SERVICE SOLAR PROTECTION

SERVICE SOLAR PROTECTION NEWS NEW IMPETUS FROM 1 JANUARY 2018 Rippstein new managing director at ITRS As of 1 January 2018, Lars Heppstein has take over management of the association‘s business in the new corporate offices in Fulda. With Lars Rippstein from member company, Dickson Constant GmbH, a new managing director has been recruited from our own ranks, so to speak. He replaces Gertrud Müller who is retiring after 20 years at ITRS, and thus should lead ITRS back to smooth waters. As a member Rippstein knows the core structures of the association and in recent years served as treasurer on a voluntary basis. Thus it was also possible to keep the transition period for transfer of the association’s transactions and activities brief. With Rippstein’s official introduction at the ITRS annual conference at the beginning of November in Erfurt, the members also decided to move the ITRS’s registered office to Fulda. Moreover, as a textiles specialist he has the best prerequisites to participate in expertly shaping all areas of the ITRS, since he not only covers the textile sector but also is right at home with specialists groups, such a IVRSA in the area of awnings, solar protection and drives. In addition, his excellent French language skills will facilitate collaboration with the European parasol association, ES-SO, in Brussels. Thus with this decision the ITRS has presumably set the course for continued success in the future. Everything changes and this is the principle of life. The permanent transformation can also be observed in the economy. Therefore companies must adapt to economic and technical developments. From the Emstetten firm’s perspective, what is crucial in this regard is to act appropriately when it is time to change. And this is the current situation for Schmitz-Werke. Consequently managing director Dan Schmitz has fundamentally reorganised the company under corporate law. With the consent of the shareholders, new companies spun off from the original company have been trading since the beginning of 2018. Specifically these are Markilux GmbH & Co. KG and Schmitz Textiles Dan Schmitz considers that the time is right to restructure the Schmitz-Werke enterprise and thus ensure that the firm will be in a position to play a key role in shaping the markets in the future. GmbH & Co. KG. Schmitz-Werke GmbH + Co. KG itself will operate as a holding company. As a higher-level administration and holding company it is the sole owner of the corporate group and thus also the owner of all real estate, and under the leadership of Dan Schmitz it undertakes the further national, as well as international development of holdings in the textile and solar protection sector. These are the results of the building owner study conducted in 2017. For the survey the building owner consultancy Almondia polled more than 1000 German citizens, who have either built their own home in recent years or are in the process of planning construction of their own home. There are now a number of craftsman’s business that specialize in the smart home area and who can also advise building owners with regard to security. Of the persons polled, who have already built their homes, 28% relied on smart building technology right from the start. A little more than one fifth of those polled have to this point in time dispensed with smart building technology for cost reasons, while 13% are gradually retrofitting the intelligent components. Among those polled, who are planning to build, four out of ten building owners do not place such a high value on intelligent building technology, however only 7% of building owners surveyed are really disinclined.
